My father had run into the Dwarf years ago in the private Imperial library and they had discussed the Dwarf’s battle-axe. What my father was doing wandering around in a library was almost as big a mystery as how a Dwarf (with a double-bladed battle axe strapped to his back) had gained access to the private Imperial library. Some things in life never do get explained. In any case the conversation ended with my father replacing the very refined matron that was my tutor at the time with a grizzled old Dwarf. I am sure it was the battle-axe that was the deciding factor. My mother was outraged, but it was then that I decided that although my father didn’t know what to do with me, he did love me.
